Anna Rosling Rönnlund is a visionary innovator, entrepreneur, and one of the world’s most engaging and sought-after speakers. Anna is the co-author of the internationally acclaimed bestseller Factfulness (2018), co-written with her husband Ola Rosling and father-in-law Hans Rosling. Together, they co-founded Gapminder, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to promoting a fact-based worldview. Gapminder’s tools and materials, including data visualizations and interactive learning resources, are used by millions annually to challenge misconceptions and provide clarity about the state of the world.

A passionate advocate for combating hopelessness and misinformation, Anna creates innovative educational solutions that replace fiction with facts. Her love for crafting beautiful data visualizations and telling data-driven stories has made her a leading voice in making the complex understandable.

In 1998, Anna and Ola developed Trendalyzer, the pioneering bubble-chart software acquired by Google in 2007. During her time at Google as a Senior User Experience Designer, she refined tools to help users explore global data. In 2010, Anna returned to Gapminder to spearhead two groundbreaking projects:

  • Dollar Street: The world’s largest photo-based project showcasing how people live at different income levels across the globe.
  • The Ignorance Project: The world’s most comprehensive collection of public misconception surveys, designed to develop free teaching materials that educate and inspire.

Anna resides in central Stockholm with her husband Ola, their three teenage children, and four cats. She continues to innovate, educate, and inspire, helping people everywhere see the world as it truly is.
